One of the most important factors in export and import businesses is the logistics service provider since distribution helps to determine the total cost for the commodity. A reliable provider is required in order to ensure that the commodities arrive as expected. Some things you should consider when choosing a company to handle the trucking jobs are listed as follows.

1. Cost and service level

The main issues to consider when choosing logistics service provider are cost and service level. Of course, you can find numerous logistics services offering friendly prices for the services, but you still need to inspect their reputations and capabilities of handling global operations. There are indeed many factors involved in distribution, while each individual factor has a specific price. It is quite difficult to suggest a particular company because almost all of them offer competitive prices. It is good that you only consider the most important services necessary to distribute the commodities. The main rule is that you have to gain maximum benefits without sacrificing the quality of distribution aspects.

2. Existing channels and routes

Besides cost and service level, there are two other essential aspects to consider. You will need to check the existing channels and routes to make sure that everything works as expected. Sometimes, you need to re-route or redesign the routes in order to fit the company’s schedule as well.

It would also be easier if you search for any service provider from certain regions only. Although you can search from other places, narrowing down the search to specific region will quicken the entire negotiation/bidding processes. Bidding is always better than negotiation since you are likely to get the most competitive price in the industry.

3. Shipping lines’ connections and the reputation

For sea freights, reputations and connections of shipping lines are highly important. You should expect difficulties or irregular situations during distribution. A reliable logistics service provider like Stevens Transport should possess good bargaining skills, which can be very useful in case of encountering some difficult situations. The most frequently encountered difficulty is probably trans-shipment where the distribution has to be re-routed before it can be sent to big containers carrier. This process will take times, so bargaining skills are important.

Conclusion

As mentioned earlier, there are many factors involved in distribution and each of them will affect the overall operations. The mentioned points above are indeed merely basic factors, but you can always use them as the first considerations for choosing a reliable logistics service provider before checking many other possible aspects involved.

Get Clients to Find You
Going out of your way to find new clients can be exhausting and time-consuming, and it’s much easier if your clients were looking for you. What you need to do is to first make sure that what you’re selling is something that a segment of the population actually want or need. If you have these to sell, then the work of finding clients is half-done.

Then, instead of looking for clients yourself, you should concentrate your efforts in making sure that your business is actually easy to find. For brick and mortar shops, set-up shop where there is a lot of foot traffic, and not in some remote corner where you hardly see anyone pass by. For an online business, make sure that search engines know where you are by boosting your site’s SEO. You can also engage in social networking campaigns so that more people are aware of your business. By being more visible online, you don’t have to go to great lengths to find and get clients.

Closing the Deal
Finding potential clients is useless if you can’t get them to become actual clients. Fortunately, people who actively seek your products and services are already aware that they need the products or services you’re offering. This makes it easier for you, because you don’t have to convince them that what you have to offer is something they need. They already know that.

You need to focus your efforts on what makes your business better than your competitors when it comes to providing for their needs. Be calm and friendly when you make your sales pitch, and don’t be pushy. Overly enthusiastic pitches by pushy sales people tend to make lots of potential clients uncomfortable.

Be professional, and offer lots of concrete evidence why your business is the best for a potential client. Make sure you have a great website, and have potential customers look your site over. Once your pitch is done, leave your business card with your business’s location, contact information, and website address. Be more interested than interesting so that even if you don’t close the deal, your demeanor will encourage the people you talk to recommend you to their friends.

How to Lose Clients with Ease
Just as there are easy ways of finding and getting clients, there are also equally easy ways of losing them. Here are some things you should NOT do, if your intention is to keep your clients that you’ve found.

1. Make the wrong first impressions. For brick and mortar shops, the condition of your workplace and your own appearance may determine whether a potential client becomes an actual client. Make sure everything looks nice and professional because each potential client that comes through your door will think that if you can’t take care of your business, then you can’t really be trusted to take care of them.

Commercial websites should also be maintained properly. See to it that your site looks professional and is easy to use and navigate. It should also be regularly monitored and updated.

2. Have a lousy customer service. Having no customer service or one that responds late or rude are all great ways to lose clients fast. If customers can’t complain to you, then they’ll complain to their network of friends in their neighborhood and in their online circles. So not only do you lose that client, you also lose a lot of potential clients.

3. Overprice what you sell or exaggerate the benefits of what you’re selling. Tricking your customers this way may earn you a few extra bucks, but pretty soon you’ll run out of clients because everyone’s heard of how your products or services aren’t what they’re touted to be or that they cost too much.
The challenge lies not in how you get clients but in how you can keep them and get them to recommend your business to people they know. If you can do that, then without a doubt, your business will succeed.

1. Website colour scheme. Background and text colour. Compare other websites on the internet to create ideas and test them out with your own components. I would advice no more than three colours and keep it simple. Colour creates an ambiance and feeling.

2. Font. Choose a font that is easy to read and the correct size.

3. Headings and sub-heading. Attract the reader’s attention and be short and to the point. You don’t want them to lose interest by too much text that goes on and on.

4. Photos and videos. It is so true that a ‘picture paints a thousand words’. A description comes to life when photos accompany your text. Let your prospective customer see your wedding car dressed in ribbons and bows. Be aware of copyright as photos available on the internet may not be permitted to be used by others. Take time to take your own photos as this creates a personal reflection of your company rather than an obvious copy of a freely available image. Use your photos for video clips for social media sites such as You Tube and Facebook.

When visiting locations that are specific to your business take time to obtain some photos to enhance and improve your website. Images of aeroplanes and airport terminals are ideal for your Airport Transfer webpage. Wedding locations will offer picturesque views ideal for your Facebook page and Wedding Car Hire webpage. Hotels offer business and conference facilities which you can photograph for Executive Travel. A tourist journey to Stonehenge, a rugby fan to Twickenham, or race goer to Ascot may lend photographic opportunities for Luxury Private Hire. Photographs of your vehicle and introducing yourself as the chauffeur will add a professional and personal touch to your main home webpage for Chauffeur Hire.

Photographs must be relevant and professional and complement your text. Plan and take photographs on bright sunny days. It will take time to learn how use computer applications, such as Photo Shop, but you can achieve very good results with a little practice.

5. Create pages for separate sub groups. Your service can be separated into various groups. For example pages can be dedicated to wedding car hire, airport transfer, luxury private hire and chauffeur hire. Consider corporate clients with executive travel.

6. Trade associations. If you belong to a trade association you can enhance your image as a reliable and trustworthy service provider by adding their logo. Provide a brief description as to how this will benefit your prospective customer.

7. Contact details. Don’t let your reader search for your contact details. They should be on every page and there should be a contact page so that they can send an email to you, via the website.

8. Term and Conditions.

This is valuable as it sets out the conditions of the service, should the reader decide to employ your services. Both the public and you have statutory rights for protection and fairness. You need to explain if you have a cancellation policy or things happen that are out of your control. Look at other company terms and conditions to get an idea of what you need to put onto your own site.

Hopefully by the end of the process you will have created a website that is unique and bespoke.

Look at all the components on my site and judge if I have adhered to my own advice.

Search Engine Optimisation

A vitally important aspect of your website which allows prospective customers to find you on the internet.

Search engine optimisation is a diverse and complicated subject but with some basic knowledge you can achieve good results putting your private hire website on page one of a search result.

1. Research. Purchase a book on the subject and put into practise what you learn. A book will guide you and assist with understanding the basics.

2. Keywords. Prospective customers search using words that are relevant to what they are looking for. For private hire and taxi businesses there are numerous keywords from generic to specific. Chauffeur driven car hire, airport transfer, wedding car hire, executive travel, luxury private hire, are just a few examples. Consider using locations for keywords as the public will look for services within their town or city.

3. Links to your site. Registering with a free listing directory will often give you a link back to your site. Social media sites supply links to your site. Submit articles and blogs.

Links to your site is seen by search engines as being important for website rating and will increase your ranking as you gain more and more links.

4. Current and updated. If a search engine sees that your site has remained stagnant and unchanged for weeks it may reduce your site prominence and affect the ranking. Keep your site current with amendments and new photos. There are always calendar events that can be added and removed such as Wimbledon, Twickenham, Ascot etc.

5. Webmaster Tools. Google and Bing allow you to assess your site’s performance.

If you’ve already gone through some video editing software reviews you’ll notice that some editing software makes the “Top 10″ lists quite often. What makes a particular video editing software great as opposed to just “average”? A great editing program should have an easy user interface. You should not have to spend minutes trying to figure out how to get those special effects that you’re after. After all, editing is time-consuming in itself – no need to make things worse by getting yourself an editing program that is not intuitive.

Having said that, the best home video editing software should also provide a good choice of more complex features thus giving you space to grow and experiment. If you set your mind to it, your creativity really knows no limits, so video editing software should serve as a platform that allows your creativity to flourish to the max. Have a look at this Top Video Editing Software Reviews section below, then decide which brand is the best one for your specific requirements and needs.

List of Video Editing Software: Easy software that guarantees impressive results!

#1 Cyberlink PowerDirector 9 Deluxe
Cyberlink’s PowerDirector is my pick as the best video editing software on the market right now. Why has it made the top of my list? Well for starters, this great package captures video straight from your DVD. This feature is usually only available in superior quality editing software packages targeting the pros and editing experts.

Using PowerDirector’s many features and effects is a breeze and very intuitive so although there are tonnes of things that you can do with this software, it’s very easy to use. With its TrueVelocity, this editing program uses the power of the best video processing technology and maximizes your system’s memory. It cleverly splits tasks into smaller “projects” and processes them across all available CPU threads. Simply incredible!

This package will improve your video quality to no end. You can remove unwanted noise, adjust color and light, edit audio tracks and get this… you can preview your editing efforts in FULL HD quality! There’s also an area where you can download over 100,000 FREE effects. You also have access to a multitude of templates, tutorials and DVD menus.

When using this software, you will also have the ability to output videos to iPad, iPhone, iPod, BlackBerry and other mobile devices. You can also proudly show off your videos on Facebook and YouTube in full HD quality. Seriously, with all the stuff this software offers, buying it for just $69.95 makes it practically a steal!

#2 Pinnacle Studio HD v.15
If you’re an absolute beginner or you’ve dabbled a bit with editing but feel far from an expert, then you’ll love Pinnacle Studio. This software clearly marks its various formats according to the user’s skills. Pinnacle Studio is the top selling software in its niche and is often dubbed as the best home video editing software.

It boasts many features and special effects and with a little bit of creativity you can easily turn any video into a small masterpiece. This software is also perfect if you’re a small business owner and would like to enhance your short promos and make them look more professional. This software is dead easy to use and after you’ve finished with your editing, you can export the final product directly to YouTube, your iPod, Wii and even your Xbox! Included in the program is the popular Red Giant. This is an effects suite which offers some special effects that are similar to the ones you see in the movies!

If you’re like most people, you just want an easy to use and fast program that produces a professional-looking result without necessarily using all the professional and elaborate techniques that the experts use. With Pinnacle Studio you can achieve all this and more. The software will also help you transform your videos in the correct format so that they can easily be uploaded on your website or blog. And if you ever get stuck, then you can use Pinnacle’s very helpful support forums. Perfect!

Included in the program is a fantastic collection of royalty-free music and also sounds that you can use freely without having to worry about copyright issues. What more could one want? This is definitely one of the best value-for-money video editing software on the market. No wonder it’s a best seller.

#3 Adobe Premiere Elements 9
This software is one of the best sellers, when it comes to the video editing niche. With an established and trusted name behind it (Adobe) this video editing software has a multitude of features! Simple commands allow you to edit video or photos, input audio and create menus for your DVDs. Be sure to check that your PC or Mac has the correct system requirements to ensure smooth running of this fantastic software!

One small shortcoming with this video editing software is the fact that it seems to be lagging behind a tad bit when it comes to speed. (CyberLink PowerDirector for example, provides exceptional speed and this is the reason why it made the No. 1 spot on our list!) We feel that speed is as important as the features provided, because who wants to spend unnecessary time editing a home or small business promo video?

#4 MAGIX Movie Edit Pro 17
This video editing software is currently being marketed as the only one that can edit and produce 3D videos. Sounds awesome right?

Well it is. But before you get too carried away with this, take a step back and think whether you will actually be using this feature. In order to produce a 3D video, you’ve got to have a 3D camcorder (or shoot with 2 camcorders from different angles). Then you’d need a 3D TV or 3D glasses if you want to watch your video. So it might be a good idea if you don’t purchase the MAGIX Movie Edit Pro 17 Plus solely on its 3D editing strenghts.

The Magix Movie Edit Pro comes with an intuitive interface although some learning and getting used to is required. Perhaps one of its best “features” is the user forum. Here you’ll find countless tips on how to maximize usage of the software. You can also access the help section which is included in the program.

#5 Roxio Easy Media Creator
Want something REALLY easy to use? Consider getting the Roxio Easy Media Creator! Expert reviews usually indicate that this video editing software does not offer quite the same amount of high quality features as other brands in this niche though.

Due to the importance attached to the various supplies and the part they play in the success of your venture, the selection of a suitable vendor becomes important as well. Whether you are looking for supplies for a hotel or a restaurant, there are a lot of factors to consider before choosing the right one.

Regular Availability of Products
The vendor should always have a steady stock of all the required products. This becomes all the more important if, say, you have a restaurant with a specific theme for each month. The company should be able to provide all the items you need for the theme, without any delay.

Quality
The quality of the vendor depends not only on the supplies, but also the services provided. A good vendor should be able to provide various services such as ensuring timely delivery, careful handling of products, providing client consultation etc.

Payment Terms
Most suppliers insist on new clients paying cash. However, as the relationship builds the vendor should be willing to provide various other modes of payment such as credit cards or even allow you pay at a later date.

Client Feedback
The feedback from previous clients is an important factor to consider when looking for hospitality suppliers. Ask the supplier for references from any other clients they might have in your area. You can get a general idea of how the vendor functions, by talking to these references. You could even consider checking on the internet to see how other clients rate the supplier.

Cost of Shipping
Most suppliers deliver right to your doorstep. However, the shipping charges may not be free and it varies depending on distance as well as the preferences of the individual supplier. Remember to find out the rates applicable in your case, and see if the total cost fits in your budget.

Training
In a lot of cases, hospitality supplies get damaged either due to improper maintenance or neglect. This is mostly because the staff is not aware of the proper procedure in handling these items properly. If you use uncommon items in your business, ensure that you get a supplier who provides training on their proper handling as well.

Online Shopping
If your supplier has a website which provides a provision for online shopping, the process becomes that much simpler. You don’t have to personally meet or call the supplier, and any new products that are available are automatically shown on the shopping portal as well, which adds to the convenience.

1. Make them aware during the interview process your expectations.
We all do this. Interview the applicants, do background checks, call references, but do you explain your expectations thoroughly? Make sure to take the time to explain the culture, how small business works, the fact that you want them to treat this as if it were their own business. Then ask them, “knowing this, do you still want to work here?” If nothing else, it will give them a chance to say no if they are not in it to win it. In that case, consider yourself lucky you took the time to talk to them in the beginning. Make your intentions for them clear from the beginning, but do it in a way that is motivating and exciting. The goal is to make the anxious to come to work every day.

2. Have a clear system that measures success
In Marlaina Williams article for Sound Leadership Consulting title The Top Seven Mistakes Small Business Leaders Make & How To Avoid Them, this is what she states:

Mistake #2 – Not Holding Employees Accountable
In his book Overcoming the Dysfunctions of a Team, Patrick Lencioni uses an apt sports analogy to emphasize the importance of accountability:
“On a football field, a scoreboard focuses everyone’s efforts on one thing: winning. It provides unambiguous information about how the team is doing, and how much time the members have left if they want to improve the final outcome. That leaves little room for individual interpretation.”

To successfully hold employees accountable, you must decide on how you will measure them – the metrics you will use to evaluate their performance. Number of sales made, revenue generated, customers satisfied, and leads generated are some of the many possible performance measurements. It is essential that you chose your metrics carefully to ensure you are measuring the activity you want to emphasize. It’s also important to remember to be positive with measurements whenever possible. If you measure the number of errors logged or mistakes made, for instance, versus measuring the number of successes, it will have a negative overall impact on morale and often on performance because what you measure gets the focus. Using positive metrics for evaluation, on the other hand, gives employees a feeling of accomplishment that you’ll see in the bottom line. Allowing some of your performance measurements to be made public, so employees are able to see how their performance stacks up against their peers can also have a positive impact. Making metrics public will create a natural, healthy competition amongst employees, who want to be top performers and subtly encourage others to not lag behind. Employees should have consistent reviews (monthly) with their managers to evaluate and discuss these metrics as well as other performance issues.

3. Reward Hard Work
“What’s my motivation Bob?” Not just a funny quote from the movie Office Space.
We all want to make more money. We all want to know that our hard work is paying off. Have you thought about profit sharing? Incentives to show them that hard work reaps rewards – and that they are entitled to some of those rewards since they were a big part of making them happen? Do some math. Set up a structure that awards hard work and dedication. Maybe a quarterly bonus based on the profits of the business that has certain percentages for the employees. That way, they can see in real time how important their job really is to the longevity of their career and the business. Extra money that only comes from having skin in the game can be a very big motivating factor.

Metal stamping is a catch-all phrase. The term is a broad one that includes a number of methods used to turn a sheet of metal into the parts you need for your equipment or product. The best stamping companies have the capacity to do punch press, metal stamping and stamp press work. But that’s not all. They will offer blanking, embossing, bending, coining and flanging. Start your search for a metal fabrication company with a search for manufacturers of the specific parts you need.

What Relationship do You Want?
Before you place a call to get a quote, think about what your relationship with metal stamping experts. Exactly what do you hope to gain from it? Some of the more obvious reasons to work directly with a stamping company include:

* Perfectly customized parts for your machinery
* Reduced manufacturing costs
* Improved quality of your products
* Increased productivity in your plant
* Design advice and expertise

These are much more ethereal needs than the actual parts you’re planning to order, but understanding what you need from the company you’re hiring will help you evaluate whether the companies you review will be able to deliver.

Does Flexibility Play a Role?
Some companies are easy to work with. They’ll modify designs, customize parts and make substitutions to your orders as needed. Other companies are more rigid – and frequently, considerably more affordable. How important is flexibility to your company? If you’ll only need standard parts or if you have a one-time order for conveyors, feeds or factory equipment, flexibility may not be as important as the lower cost. If, on the other hand, you anticipate an ongoing relationship with the company as a source of quality components for your own products, flexibility is key.

How Well Do They Communicate?
Any business relationship revolves around communication, but it’s especially important when you’re working on design specs for your products or equipment. Does the company make it easy for you to communicate directly with the metal stamping experts – the designers, engineers and fabricators who will be collaborating with you to create the parts you need? If everything has to go through an account manager, is he easy to reach? Does he understand your needs and can he communicate them effectively to the design department? If the company doesn’t offer you an open line of communication, along with assurances and guarantees of updates throughout the process, look for another company that will be a better partner in your endeavors.

The internet has however now provided the capability for service businesses to scale, generate real passive income and with near limitless potential. And there are many examples of this, though Facebook would most certainly be one of the best known.

In figuring out the best structure for your business, one of the best ways would be to analyze a successful internet business by breaking it down into the various components that makes it so successful, and then overlay this onto your own business plan. The model was proven after all, and applying some of that wisdom to you own business, may just do the trick.

1. Provide something of value and that people want.

Facebook built a platform with a number of capabilities, that allows users to create profiles, share information (in various forms) connect and network with each other, communicate with each other and all in a multitude of ways.

In reality they have built a single platform, with simple duplication capability, allowing literally billions of users to add themselves and use the system, without the company having to do a thing. Notably they continue to improve the platform but again a single improvement only happens once, and then can be accessed by all the users. Clearly a potential passive income generator on steroids.

2. Automatic communication on singular and larger scale, and on an ongoing basis.

They have added a multitude of ways for people to share, communicate, discuss and network with each other. Again through a singular but easy to duplicate platform development. The platform also provides an automated system of communication outside of the platform, which makes sure that you go back, over and over again.

This particular capability goes directly towards the point of the platform as a whole, and more specifically shows up as a significant factor in their success. The platform speaks to the interests, desires and psychological need of people to combine isolation with absolute connectivity, driving our basic instincts as a species. We want our lives to mean something, while at the same time feeling safe.

The combination of communication and platform capabilities also allows for the development of shared interest communities, again from behind the safety of a computer screen, allowing freedom to explore without much risk.

The obvious success of social media in general speaks very significantly to this need, and so building solid communication capabilities within your business, and which incorporate a significant number of these features, will most definitely prove key to your success.

3. Marketing your online business

It seems to me that Facebook does not participate in any of the conventional marketing methods used by most companies to develop their products or services. In fact I have never heard of a Facebook TV advertisement, and certainly no flyers landed on my doorstep. What they have done is allowed freedom. A user can add almost anything, say almost anything, share almost anything, without any significant restriction or constraint. This means that it is easier for any user to do what they want.

So what happens. Users do use it. Users share it, since it is easy, and suddenly Facebook is one of the biggest internet companies around.

People generally do not like to be caged or restricted, so when you plan your communication and platform capabilities, keep in mind that freedom will create want. Simply put “the more you give, the more they want..”

4. Monetization

Facebook uses various methods of monetizing their business, the most significant of which include, paid for advertising on user pages, offering access to user databases to other companies and most certainly more recently affiliate type sales from their website.

What is interesting is that they do not charge for access to their platform at all. The net result of this though is that they have total access to a trusting potential customer list, to whom they can sell probably anything they set their minds to. A perfect position for any business.

What this means for your business however is that you should consider finding a way to create a focus away from what you are selling towards what people want. This will build a customer base over time, and before you know it the opportunity to sell something, continuously and on an ongoing basis, will be at hand.

Product or Service Should Have Unwavering Demand
Considering the current shape of the economy, it’s wise to sell a product or service that is constantly in demand (also known as inelastic demand, in the geek world). Filling a basic necessity, like food, clothing, medicines, shelter, delicious cheese & garlic filled pizza from heaven, ensures people keep coming back to you despite thinning wallets. Some luxury brands continue to do well during economic downturns but that’s because of niche marketing, established prestige and large promotion budgets, something that start-ups don’t always enjoy.

The Entrepreneurs Expertise Matters
Starting a small business about something you know little of wastes your time and possibly money. The entrepreneur spends too much time learning tricks of the trade and not enough time fine tuning operational efficiency and marketing. Profits will be meager to begin with and grow slowly (if you’re lucky) because you’re doing too many things at once. If you’re interested in entering a new market with little or no experience, go work for another small business in the same segment and learn how things are done. Then use those lessons to start your own business!

Brimful of Motivation
Money and your family’s well-being are great motivators, but when things look dull for your business, it’s easy to lose hope and rethink your steps. There’s nothing wrong with changing your product or service, but persistency is important properly test the product/service and market. For that, you need to not only have a faith (your inner gut feeling), but also have a hobby-like interest in the business. If you’re an avid photographer, setup a small wedding photography studio instead of a grocery store.

Be Specific About Your Product and Service Range
It’s never a good idea for small businesses to heavily diversify their product range hoping to cast a wide net in the market. Grocery stores often do this by selling everything from edibles to clothing to household products, and that just makes your cost structure complex and cost base really vast.

Such businesses must pay a multitude of suppliers for everything they propose to sell to customers and that requires excellent cashflow management. It will be difficult for the entrepreneurs to support such levels of investments without good bookkeeping and heavy investment, especially if market demand were to fall.

Common Mortuary Supplies
Dealing in death is delicate business that requires many health-related considerations. Special gloves, masks, and eye shields protect morticians from acquiring and transmitting diseases from the living to the dead. Boot covers, surgical caps, and gowns contribute to a hygienic environment and are disposable to keep the area as sanitary as possible. Body bags are commonly used but disaster pouches and envelopes are also available.

Gloves made from special fiber material resist cuts and can be worn under examination or autopsy gloves. Fiber gloves are designed to be reused and can withstand repeated laundering even when bleach is used. Chemical resistant gloves are highly impermeable to a variety of solvents and chemicals but are thin and flexible, making them comfortable to wear. The material conforms to hands, so these gloves can be worn inside other gloves to provide maximum protection.

Cremation Funeral Supplies
Cremation has become an extremely popular alternative to a traditional burial. Cremation supplies include corrugated containers that are laminated and feature coated interiors. Self-locking covers and rolled edges ensure that contents remain inside, allowing the container to be lifted and moved. These features eliminate issues common with standard cremation trays.

It can cost as much as $5,000 to replace the floor of a cremation chamber. Cremation rollers make the loading process easier and more efficient. Made from recycled paper materials, these tubes are consumed during cremation, reducing the amount of waste. They also reduce damage to the floor of the chamber, reducing the overhead involved in crematory operations. Funeral directors include the cost of these supplies when determining cremation fees.

Death is inevitable and an $11 billion industry depends upon it. Private companies and generations of families represent the large majority of businesses within this sector. However, more entrepreneurs are entering this industry from other sectors including design, technology, and automotive. Anyone who is considering becoming a mortician or funeral director should secure the proper supplies and equipment before opening the doors of the establishment.

If you are considering buying a pharmacy there are several things you will need to know including deciding on what kind you want to own, assessing your personal finances, and checking a company’s financials against industry benchmarks.

You need to decide what kind of pharmacy you want to own; a franchise or an independent one. If you want to go the franchise route keep in mind that industry leaders who are dominating the market including chains like Walgreens, CVS and Rite Aid are not currently offering any franchising opportunities. However, there are many small companies that exist that are offering franchising opportunities.

If you decide to go the independent pharmacy route, there are several options to consider. It is common practice to buy into a partnership of an existing operation. This is advantageous because your initial investment will be much lower than if you were going it alone. The best option would be to get into a pharmacy where the owner plans to retire in the next 3-5 years. You can learn from their expertise and also share in expenses. Another option to consider is buying a pharmacy that caters to a niche market. An example of a niche market pharmacy is a compounding pharmacy. These types of operations can be highly lucrative.

Know Your Finances
Most pharmacy sales are all cash. If you plan to finance your business keep in mind banks want to see around 20% of your own money down. Banks may not fund the entire purchase price. You will need to know how you will make up the difference. Seller financing may be an available option. Sellers offer financing typically for 3-7 years with an interest rate at prime plus or minus 1-2 percent.

Financial Benchmarks
According to IBISWorld.com, pharmacies and drug stores in the US generate $248 billion each year. 52,193 businesses are sharing in that revenue and within those businesses, 775,721 people are employed. The average pharmacy will fill 54,427 prescriptions annually or 174 per day and the average independent pharmacy typically generates $2.8 million in sales each year. Cost of goods sold will be your highest expense running at about 75% of annual sales.

1) The Subject Line:
Authors, writers and publishers spend enormous time creating their titles. Why? Because they know that the main reason people buy books, read articles, or click on news content is the title. Spend time on creating a subject line that catches your potential customer’s interest. It needs to be concise and should summarize your email.

2) The Funnel:
From an internet marketing standpoint, view your email as the beginning of the sales funnel. The email should be brief and succinctly diagnose a potential customer’s problem or concern; provide a solution and a way for that customer to find out how they can solve that problem, or provide the proper links to find that solution. In other words, don’t send them to your home page. Take them directly to the page where you provide your services or answers to that particular problem. It is also beneficial to have a short video at the top of that page that reiterates their concern and provides some solutions or ideas to solve the problem and why they need to read your copy on the page.

3) Research:
It always helps to do some extra research on your potential customer. In addition to viewing their sites, see if your customer has personally written any blogs or articles. Read what they have written. If appropriate, you can send an email to them about their article or blog and a comment. Make sure that you have the signature box of your email filled out properly, with a website and a call to action to view that site. Example: “Look who helped XYZ Company increase their sales closing by 20% – (add site link).”

4) LinkedIn:
A little LinkedIn research goes along way. I assume you have targeted your potential customers, so linking up with them is a good idea. Also, see if they belong to any groups. Check out their participation level and if they participate, join that group and comment after them. (As with the comments on blogs and articles, make sure that what you say has merit and is not a blatant attempt to win favor. Phony never works.)

5) Value Add:
You can also offer a free ebook, white paper or video in your email subject line. For example, if your market is branding, you might use a subject line with a value add such as “Get your customers to think of you first – 7 tips video!” Lead with that in the subject line and just have them click to read or view the video. (Do not use an attachment, as many people will not open attachments.) Make sure you always put a call-to-action in any value add. Remember, if the subject line and your value add fits in with their need, they are more likely to open it, read it, view it and take action.

6) Follow-Up:
Either via an auto-responder or your own little typing fingers, follow-up in a day or two with an email stating “Hope you read our 7 tips to get your customers to think of your first. If not, you can view it here (add link).” “At XYZ company, we specialize in… ” Here is where you can provide further information on how your company can solve your customer’s problems and provide links, as well as the link to the page that offers your service (with the video) in this email. Chances are they will view the video first and then read your white paper. (Again, take time creating your subject line for this email.)

7) Patience:
Like hammering a nail, if you keep at it, eventually you drive it home. As you know, the competition for the eyeballs of potential customers is fierce. By doing a little extra work on your subject line, funnel, content, a value add and follow-up, you will, undoubtedly, be doing more than most of your competition. That little extra work is what will help you stand out in the minds of your potential customers and, eventually, get them to open and read your cold emails.

Relationships are the most important factor in such a scenario, and one out to use social media for creating connections on a personal basis for the purpose of effective B2B lead generation. For this purpose, the right content is obviously an important part of the overall strategy. However, the fact to be taken care of is that the shared content should not be about the brand, but about the needs of its customers. For instance, if it’s a car maker, tips on safe driving, maximizing mileage, etc. can be shared, interspersed with interesting facts about existing line of cars or about an upcoming model.

With this tactic, one can benefit from online B2B lead generation and target customers who are interested in the domain in which one is operating. From then on, landing pages can certainly take care of the rest. The principle to be followed here is a ratio of 10:4:1, i.e., 10 posts to third party sites, 4 links to the company’s blog (yes, it needs to be created if it’s not there) and 1 direct link to a landing page.

Social conversations also play a vital role in this context, aiding B2B lead generation and helping in conversion rates by using social activities to improve conversion rates by prompting customers to perform actions one would want them to. Essentially, there are two ways to go about it. One of them is to get them involved in conversations that are already happening, and offering answers to their questions. The other way is to build and leverage social media connections like using positive tweets and Facebook posts as starting points, or endorsements, if you will. However, one must constantly be monitoring all activity to ensure that nothing gets out of hand, only then would using social media prove worthwhile in the truest sense.

1. Sell Yourself from the First Word
When you start your search for any level of IT software sales jobs, make sure that your CV opens with a bang. Include a short, punchy summary to open your sales CV that gets straight down to business, and make it read like a sales pitch that immediately demonstrates your confidence and your sales abilities – two crucial skills that employers will be looking for evidence of in your CV. It is a good idea to include any key achievements in this summary, such as sales awards that you have won in the past. Giving these a prominent position will help you in your effort to compose an effective introductory summary.

2. It’s All About the Results
One thing that you should remember throughout your CV is that whoever reads it is going to be interested in what you can do for their company, and that means the results that you can help them to achieve. You therefore need to make sure that you clearly demonstrate what you have achieved in your previous positions and how you personally made a difference. Include your sales achievements right near the top of your CV, perhaps in the section detailing your career history. You might want to provide information on difficult accounts that you dealt with, repeat business that you developed and successful negotiations that you were involved with. Don’t waste space providing extensive details about your job responsibilities, but instead place the emphasis on your impact in each position.

3. Target the Reader
One crucial aspect to consider when applying for software sales position is who you are targeting with your CV. This means not just sending out one standard CV for all the positions you apply for (although you can use one as a basic template), and instead tailoring your CV to a specific audience. At its most basic level, this means including industry-specific information if possible. If a recruiter is helping you to find your next position, they could provide you with in-depth details about the company and its requirements, and they may even provide you with information about who will be reading your CV so that you can tailor it accordingly.

4. Write a Stand-Out Sales CV
Your CV is the first stage in making a good impression and selling yourself when you apply for IT software sales jobs. That means it deserves a great deal of care and attention, rather than being something that you just pull together at the last minute. Make sure it emphasises the value that you offer, and also ensure that your enthusiasm and passion come through clearly, as these are key to any sales job. Even when you think you have written the ultimate CV, do yourself a favour and show it to someone who has experience in sales CVs before you send it out as they will almost certainly be able to help you make it even more effective positive changes.

1. Communication Skills
Communication skills are essential in any sales environment. The ability to communicate with customers, market your products and offer superior customer service all comes down to effective communication skills. If you don’t have good communication skills you will find it very difficult when dealing with customers on any level whether it’s face to face, over the phone or via email.

2. Problem Solver
There isn’t one single sales position that doesn’t come with its share of problems and the ability to problem solve is a necessary skill for anyone who wants to succeed in sales. You’ll be faced with problems each and every day from customers not receiving their order to customers having problems with the product, you need to know your product and be an effective problem solver in order to manage the problem effectively and keep your customer happy at the same time. Other problems you can encounter on a regular basis is orders not arriving on time, invoices being incorrect and internet problems, just to name a few that will require your immediate attention.

3. Organization Skills
In order to offer superior customer service, ensure orders are dispatched in an orderly manner and payments are received you will need excellent organizational skills. You’ll need to plan appointments with suppliers and customers, manage your online visibility and handle accounts each and every day, with the right structure in place this can be achieved with ease.

4. Motivation
Whether you’re working in an office environment or you work from a home office with the majority of your sales taking place on line, you need motivation. For every successful sale there will be a number of disappointments and it can be very difficult to keep yourself in that positive frame of mind. Setting goals, being positive and determined are just a few of the ways you can keep yourself motivated. Motivation is a very important skill that not everyone is able to achieve when working in a sales environment.

5. Be Persuasive
You’ve heard the saying that someone can “sell ice to Eskimos.” We aren’t all blessed with that persuasive skill that can get anyone to buy anything at the drop of a hat. Whether you sell cars for a living or you sell technological products online, having a persuasive personality can be hugely advantageous in a sales environment. You need to know how to talk to customers and how to get them to think they must have your product in order to achieve success. These five necessary skills are only the top of the iceberg when it comes to sales whether you’re working face to face or online. The majority of sales these days take place on the internet and you need to know how to deal with customers, suppliers and everyone else in between in order to achieve success.
