What is the purpose of your cold call? Is the objective to sell something during your first phone call or is the ‘sale’ successfully scheduling an in-person appointment? The answer to that question will help you construct an appropriate sales call script. Sales call scripts can be modified to improve your success rate. If each phone call made is different you’ll have a difficult time understanding what helped close a sale. Practice your script until it sounds natural.

Step One: Awareness:
Consumers are moved from a state of being unaware of product or service, in this case written content, to being aware of your product, brand or article. If you are an Internet Content Marketer or book seller your audience learns of you by seeing notes pointing to your works placed by the webmaster of the article directories you work with, such as Triond and Ezine Articles. You can increase Awareness by commenting on the articles of others. The ones who have commented on your articles and seem interested in the topic are particularly good to contact through the Directory email service to start up friendships and to discuss your product, such as a how-to course you have created and offer for sale to the public, or your published book. They may be good “prospects”, people who might want to buy from you. At places like eBay where you might be offering copies of your works on CD you rely on the high volume of eBay traffic to bring your item to the attention of others. Choosing good keywords in your descriptions there help also. And if you don’t use places like eBay and Amazon to post your work and have a keyword research tool like Market Samurai you can locate Search Terms, (Words people type into the Google Search Engine when they are looking for something) that get a lot of searches and have a low number of competing pages being indexed by the Google Spiders when it chooses which web pages are the most relevant and more authoritative to place on the first pages and the pages that follow. I like keywords that get at least 50 searches a day and have no more than around 300,000 competing pages being indexed by Google to serve up search results. Article Directories such at Ezine articles are “high authority” and Google prefers them. Get your content listed on the first page and you will have the better chance of getting free traffic from Google to your article. (You can also buy a place in those SERPS [Search Engine Results Pages]) This will help you achieve the awareness of the general public to your product, service or content. You can help Google to rank your articles higher in the SERPS by placing the keyword, or words you have targeted, in your title, description, first sentence, last sentence of last paragraph and in the tags. It helps you rank higher because it makes it easier for the Google Spiders to know what your article is about.

2. Watch the trends – sometimes, even your own customers may not be aware of what they really need. In these cases, it might do you well if you pay attention to the trends. If you promote your business by using promotional event merchandise giveaways can help you make an impact at any of these sorts of events. For one thing, if you give away promotional items and corporate gifts you are ensuring that the people who you meet with will be reminded of your brand when they get home, which means that even at a busy event where your business is far from being the focus you will still get their attention. For another, in a lot of these situations you will be competing with many other similar businesses. If you give your prospects promotional items for free, particularly something useful or interesting, you may gain an advantage over those just handing out flyers or business cards. Thirdly, if it is an event you have put on yourself, if you give out a promotional gift then you make it feel more like a special conferences and events or offer, where there is something in it for people to come and get involved.
When branding is done correctly, consumers will purchase a new product from a company simply because the item carries the brand name. Though they have not yet tried the product, they buy it expecting that it will be as great as everything else the company sells. A business that is able to develop brand loyalty rises above the competition, taking sales figures right along with it. Once the brand itself is developed by a company, it can and should be used in every marketing campaign.
10 Vital Rules of Branding
1.Uncover a compelling idea. Behind every great brand is a unique idea that captures customers’ attention and loyalty by fulfilling a need.
2.Have a resolute core purpose and supporting values in your branding. This should mirror what your community stands for. These also need to remain in place year after year. Consistency in delivering your promise.
3.Have an organizational focus on branding. Leading organizations consciously ask themselves: “How will this decision impact upon the brand?” Is this “on-brand.” This is crucial in the social media era.

First the major concerns that many consultants seem to have:
- Not having a proven track record as a consultant
- Not having a lot of qualifications, degrees or letters after their names
- Not having ‘flashy’ marketing materials
- Not having a national (or international) reputation
So what can you do?

Start with your existing network of business contacts, friends and family, you may be surprised at just who can help you. You could also consider a press release in a local or industry related publication.
2 Collect testimonials
I consult with a lot of business owners, and I hear a common complaint: “The sales team isn’t making their revenue numbers and my sales manager doesn’t seem to know what to do to get them to improve. What should I do?”
After reviewing their sales processes, their training program, sales scripts, etc., I always ask the same question: “How much production is your sales manager generating per month?” And I almost always get the same answer – “My manager doesn’t sell.”
Therein lies the problem.
The problem with most sales managers that they don’t sell. And the problem with that is how can they teach and manage something they aren’t doing themselves (or worse, can’t)?
“Half of the world is composed of people who have something to say and can’t; the other half have nothing to say and keep saying it”. That is the kind of problem for the half of the people and again that is the kind of prospects for the other half of the people who know the art and power of presentation skills.
We all present our ideas, views and opinions when we talk with people in general. And when it is to be presented for a longer time it requires lot of energy, effort and enthusiasm. Besides, it requires lot of information, ideas, and material to format and organize the same mentally. Here the majority of the people fail and a few succeed. And those who succeed are those who are good at presentation skills.
What career guidance or career advice would you give to somebody that really hasn’t a clue as to what career they would like to pursue? Education and Career Guidance, do they go hand in hand? What importance those education and academic qualifications go toward career guidance and a candidate’s career progression?
The student who hasn’t a clue can often be very worried about this but in actual fact they are often better off than the student who sees career as a particular occupation they will have when they graduate for the rest of their life. Career is a lifelong journey and a process of continually developing skills and personal qualities that are transferable. It is far better if the student can focus on the journey rather than on a particular destination.
